Dale Jr. Out At Least Next Two Races, Jeff Gordon to Fill In

This morning (July 20), Hendrick Motorsports confirmed this morning that NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr. will miss at least the next two races due to ongoing concussion-like symptoms.

Jeff Gordon, who retired from full time racing at the end of last season, will drive Dale’s #88 Chevrolet this week (July 24) at Indianapolis and next week (July 31) at Pocono.

Jr. missed last week’s New Hampshire race with Alex Bowman getting behind the wheel for him.

According to Hendrick Motorsports, Earnhardt was evaluated this week at UPMC’s Sports Medicine Concussion Program.
