Stoney Creek recording artist Adam Craig dropped by Y108 on Monday (July 11) to perform a few songs and talk to Wookie about his radio tour, living in Nashville and his worst habits.
During a recent interview, Adam revealed that he has some well-known friends in Nashville and they would BBQ, drink and write songs.
“I signed to Sony Music Publishing back in 2010 or 2011 and that’s where I met Cole [Swindell]. We hit it off, we loved each other’s music,” he said. “I had a song on Jason Aldean’s record called “Church Pews or Bar Stools” that he loved. He had just got his first cut with Scotty McCreery with “Water Tower Towns,” so we’re just celebratin’ all the time. I loved that song, got to play that with him a bunch.”
“Everybody that was just kind of our little community of friends… it was Jon Pardi and Tyler Farr all sorts of people. We just go over there, grill out, listen to each other’s demos blasted & piss off all the neighbors. It was great.”
Adam has been out touring the country and his favorite thing so far is just getting to sing the songs. “I’ve been kind of behind the scenes [writing] for the past 12 years, so to actually get to be singing them now is definitely my favorite.”
It’s something he said he never thought he be able to do. At one point Adam said had a band but realized early on that he wasn’t going to get a record deal so he focused on writing instead.
Adam Craig’s self-titled debut EP is out now. You can download it from his website.
