Darius Rucker Has a Long History of Love for All Things Pittsburgh

Darius Rucker is hanging out in Pittsburgh this Sunday. Ally and Andy talked to him and he has a lot of plans while he’s in one of his favorite places to play.

“I love playing Pittsburgh,” he said. “It’s always been such a great city, even like back in the early, early Hootie days when we first started touring big. We decided to tape our first video in Pittsburgh because we had had such a great show there.”

His 11-year old son is even looking forward to doing some shopping, because he’s a huge fan of the Penguins. “He can’t wait to get there to get all his t-shirts and his sweatshirts and his hats, he’s all excited.”

Darius is a veteran golfer of Oakmont and is heading out to hit the green early Sunday morning before the show at First Niagara Pavilion. “Oakmont’s beautiful. I’ve played there before. It’s beautiful, it’s a hard golf course but they keep it in amazing shape all year round.”

On top of that, he said he loves Pirmanti’s and is looking forward to getting out for some of Pittsburgh’s famous dining.

Darius Rucker also talked about his time just acting as Jesus recently and how much he’s enjoying his time on the tour with our local guys in Dan & Shay.

One of the things Darius Rucker is known for, other than great music, is his laugh. So, Ally & Andy in attempt to get him to giggle were sharing jokes, including the joke Ally can’t do on the radio. Really, it’s NSFW and you shouldn’t let your kids listen.

Take a listen to the entire interview and have a great time at First Niagara Pavilion this Sunday with Darius Rucker and Y108.
