Today’s Trending @ 10 could change movie-going as we know it, and not in a good way. Actually, in the most ANNOYING way.
According to USAtoday.com, AMC theaters are considering allowing texting DURING movies to help attract a younger crowd! Is this real life?
In a recent interview, CEO of AMC theaters, Adam Aron said, “When you tell a 22-year-old to turn off the phone, don’t ruin the movie, they hear please cut off your left arm above the elbow. You can’t tell a 22-year-old to turn off their cellphone. That’s now how they live their life.”
However true that might be, WHY RUIN IT FOR EVERYONE? Seriously, your cell phone screen might be small, but the light that comes from it in a pitch-black movie theater is SUPER annoying.
I’m as attached to my cell phone as the next millennial and/or person in general, but seriously, you can’t put your phone down for 2 hours??? That’s a problem.
There is this little glimmer of hope though:
Looks like “texting sections” are gonna be the new smoking sections! What a time to be alive.
