Tim McGraw gave one of the most moving performances at the 2016 ACM Awards with “Humble and Kind.” So his wife, Faith Hill, gave one of the most loving shout-outs on Instagram by posting a “kiss pic” with the caption “I am so proud of my man.”
McGraw’s performance of the Lori McKenna song was one of the highlights of the awards ceremony, and as he sang people of all ages, races and creeds flooded the stage.
McGraw has talked about how, as the father of three daughters with Hill, he deeply relates to “Humble and Kind.” “I cried through every take,” he told Tasteofcountry.com. “I would try to get myself together and I’d get halfway through it and I would just start blubbering every time time I tried to sing a line.”
The singer added that the message is universal. “It is a rare moment when a song comes along that speaks equally to the world and the individual,” McGraw said in a statement. “A song that transcends. A song that reaches into the heart of everyone who hears it. ‘Humble and Kind’ is one of those songs.”
Humble and Kind, the book, is slated for release May 17.
