Fans of the show Nashville will be thrilled to see a surprise music icon in an upcoming episode. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Sir Elton John is scheduled for a guest appearance on the much-loved TV drama. It may be another example of art imitating life, as we have been seeing a lot of crossover between the rock and country genres lately.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the pop-rock piano playing legend will play himself in the show’s May 18 episode, alongside Sam Palladio’s character Gunnar Scott.
With songs like “Tiny Dancer,” which country music fans will recall Tim McGraw recorded, “Crocodile Rock,” “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” and many more, John and his longtime writing partner Bernie Taupin have been hitmakers since the 70’s. He has released more than 30 studio albums, including the recent Wonderful Crazy Night, released in early February.
