Blake Shelton has released his much anticipated new single, “Came Here to Forget.” The track is the first from his upcoming 12th studio album.
“I’ve had a lot of music over the years but I don’t think I’ve ever had a song before that’s such a direct look into my life,” Shelton said of the tune that was written by Craig Wiseman and Deric Ruttan. “That’s why I’m so excited about this particular song.”
“Girl you’re getting over him, I’m getting over her,” the song starts. Perhaps Shelton’s note about it being a “direct look into” his life refers to how easily that lyric lends itself to his current relationship with Gwen Stefani as she recently split from Gavin Rossdale. Shelton, of course, divorced Miranda Lambert last summer.
