Last month, Taylor Swift made time in her busy schedule—winning GRAMMYs, standing up for herself, playing with her cats—to be the maid of honor in her best friend’s wedding in Reading, PA. And while there’s a rom-com premise here we hope someone in Hollywood runs with, footage bride Britany Maack released from the reception shows Taylor raising a glass to love and enduring friendship.
“My favorite accomplishment of my entire life is that everything in my life has changed except for me and Britany,” says Taylor during her reception speech. “She was my partner in crime at Brownies sleepaway camp and she was my date to the Grammys. And little did either of us know that prince charming for Britany would be the kid that sat next to me in class with a bowl cut and a Lego lunchbox.”
Frankly, we’d be disappointed if Swift’s speech didn’t tread familiar themes of nostalgia, fate, fairytale romance and squad loyalty.
“He would chase her and pursue her through middle school and junior high and high school, and their paths would diverge, and then come back together,” continued the superstar. “It would be so magically unpredictable, but at the same time, so incredibly fated just like the best love stories are.”
