Joe Perry on Steven Tyler’s New Song: ‘OK, Next’

It’s no secret how Aerosmith feels about their front man, Steven Tyler‘s decision to go solo. “We kind of feel a little bit abandoned by him,” guitarist Bradley Whitford told Billboard back in November. “I guess he seems to think his solo career is going to go great guns, and he doesn’t seem to realize that—in my opinion—his fans around the globe want to see him in the context of Aerosmith and don’t really care for whatever he thinks he’s gonna do.”

Now that Tyler’s solo country music has been released, Aerosmith’s lead guitarist, Joe Perry, is shedding some light on how he feels about the tunes. Unfortunately for Tyler, his review of Red, White & You seems to go hand-in-hand with what Whitford predicted. “Hey, if I didn’t know him when I heard the song I’d go, ‘It’s okay, next’”, Perry told USA Today. After commenting on his bandmate’s song, he wrapped up the topic with a Forrest Gump-like conclusion. “I’m not going to say anything else about that.”
