Garth Brooks Teases Possible Pittsburgh Tour Stop
Country superstar Garth Brooks announced this week on GMA that he’s ready to tour again. When will we know if Garth’s returning to the ‘Burgh? Y108’s Jimmy and Monty asked him:
“Well, I think first of all we gotta talk about… we have one baby left in high school. And this is her last year, so we know the tour isn’t going to start before the summer. And then, as far as dates, I kind of jumped, I jumped the announcement just because Robin Roberts, I just love her to death. They’re not prepared schedule wise or anything to release anything yet. If you just look at our first world tour, second world tour, I’m hoping it’s gonna be just like that, just city after city, fun after fun and just going as long as people want to play.”
Just like Garth’s previous tours, we can anticipate reasonable tickets prices, multiple tour dates in certain cities, and a tour that could run for three years. Jimmy and Monty helped Y108 welcome Garth when he sold out 6 consecutive shows at the Civic Arena in 1997. Would a Steelers fan like Garth consider playing Heinz Field?
“Oh, you know what? I’m not a weather guy… so I like the arenas. Even though some arenas are 17, 18-thousand you can still make them a little personal hall, and people love to come and sing, and I’m hoping they’re gonna come and bring their voices with them. And I just love playing Pittsburgh, and I love the arena there, so if and when that happens, (Consol Energy Center) would be the location, I would think.”
