VIDEO: Krystal Keith’s ‘Father-Daughter’ Song That Almost Made Toby Cry
Looking for the perfect song for a “father-daughter” wedding dance?
When Krystal Keith got married in 2012, she had a big surprise waiting for her country superstar dad. Krystal had secretly recorded her own father-daughter dance song, called “Daddy Dance With Me” (on sale now – see below). He may deny it, but proud papa Toby Keith reportedly shed a few tears as they danced to this song at her wedding reception.
In crafting this heartfelt song with Mica Roberts and Sonya Rutledge, Krystal shared childhood memories that became part of the lyrics:
“I know what you see / when you look at me /as we walk down the aisle
Little pink tutu / bows and tennis shoes / and the wide eyes of your child
Those are all the memories / you’ll cherish and you’ll carry / no matter how much time has come and gone
Daddy dance with me / I want you to see the woman I’ve become
Daddy don’t let go / I want you to know I’ll always need your love
Today I became his wife / but I’ll be your baby girl for life”
The song’s available on iTunes, and on Krystal Keith’s CD, “Whiskey and Lace, in stores now.
See Krystal Keith live when Toby Keith’s “Shut Up and Hold On” tour hits First Niagara Pavilion on August 9, 2014. Tickets are on sale now!
