Actor/comedian Dean Edwards (SNL) shares his Oscar predictions for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress with Jimmy and Monty:
“Anne Hathaway (“Les Miserables”) is gonna win for Best Supporting Actress from day one. She did her thing, and when she sang the song (“I Dreamed a Dream”)… I didn’t get misty, but… I was like, ‘Okay.’”
“Sally Field did a great job in ‘Lincoln’, too. MONTY: She was in “Smokey and the Bandit”. Right, right. That’s RANGE! She was “Gidget”… HELLO? “Smokey”, I remember… Sally could ‘get it’. I was seven.”
How about Naomi Watts as a mother trying to save her kids after a tsunami in “The Impossible”? “She was brilliant in that, man. Especially (viewing it) as a parent. She carried the emotion of that movie.”
“Jennifer… Jennifer… the “Hunger Games” chick. I’m bad with people’s names. Jennifer Lawrence! I’m good with your resume’, bad with your name. Killed it (in “Silver Linings Playbook”)! But, I feel like, Naomi Watts, I was more emotionally involved.” MONTY: And, in a tsunami, I would cling to Naomi Watts. “Who wouldn’t? The TREES were clinging to her!”
