Indiana Soldier Survives Being Shot In The Head
Y108 salutes Richard Custer of Indiana County, who was wounded in the head while serving in the Army overseas. Richard’s brother, Scott, shares his story with Jimmy and Monty.
“Over a year ago, (Richard) popped his head up.. to check, you know, see if anybody’s out there. Then, he told his (soldiers) that it’s clear and as soon as he popped right back up, he said all he (saw) was black. And then, he got woke up by one of his soldiers, (and Richard asked) ‘What the heck happened?’, and he’s like ‘You just got shot, dude’. He actually walked himself into the medic.”
Richard, a Marion Center graduate, is currently at home with his wife and new child, awaiting his next deployment.
