Country music has always been rooted in love of God, country, family and freedom, set to real life.
I could not find a more appropriate reflection of our country music roots on this national anniversary of the bravery and strength of America, than the words of Red Skelton.
That’s how I remember September 11th, 2001.
It was the day that something we were ALL taking for granted, suddenly became very fragile.
It was the day that, in the face of horrific tragedy, Americans of all races and political affiliation became an undivided and awakened giant!
That our country IS unique and there are people in this world who want to destroy it.
See, on that day the heart-beat of America truely showed itself in every individual who put their own lives on the line for their country-man and woman selflessly and without regard for their future.
My Dad was a Marine, my brother’s a cop and my husband was Navy. I was raised as a rugged individual with American traditions of strenth, honor and faith. I am proud to be an American. God Bless the victims and their families of September 11th, 2001 and always keep this nation in your prayers. Ally =)
