While Casey James’ latest hit “Crying On A Suitcase” climbs the charts, Casey tells Y108′s Jimmy and Monty about his first real heartbreak.
“Oh, wow. I had a girlfriend… and I had a motorcycle accident, and we broke up shortly after that.”
Casey is referring to his near-fatal motorcycle crash at the age of 21 that left him without the use of an arm and a leg for a few years. Was it too hard for his girlfriend to deal with his lengthy recovery? “Yeah, I think so, you know, and it was just timing.”
“I don’t blame her, I mean honestly, when you’re younger, and who wants to be with a guy who can’t walk or you know play guitar?”
“She did come back and apologize”, recalls Casey. “I thought it was really nice of her to do it, honestly. She said ‘I’m really sorry and I hope everything’s going well for you’. And I thought, ‘That’s really nice of you to do that’.”
Pick up Casey’s self-titled CD… and, listen to Jimmy and Monty in the Morning, weekdays 5:30-10AM on Y108!
