The 2012 CMT Music Awards brought together some amazing artists for one-of-a-kind group performances and these were the best moments from the show!

I should first admit that I love when they do collaborations with large groups of artists. Kinda like our Y108 8 Man Jam recently! There was so much happening onstage, and I’m not just talking about the singing.

#1 – Willie, Toby, Darius, Jamey and Zac on Roll Me Up And Smoke Me When I’m Dead

It started with one icon, Willie Nelson, singing. But if you look behind him, there’s a slightly out of focus Zac Brown with a “how did I get so lucky” look on his face, and a huge grin! Watch Zac all the way through the performance, he’s great!

Darius Rucker‘s voice sounded so smooth on the song and then the flashes into the crowd of Jake Owen with his adorable new wife rockin’ out to the song! I love her already!

Then there’s Toby Keith, who’s a great host, but I’d rather watch him sing ANY DAY! Jamey Johnson was in on it?! I couldn’t believe it! What a voice! I looked at my husband and he went “YEAH!!”

It was all backed up by the Zac Brown Band and judging from the audience shots of Charles Kelley & Luke Bryan, I think they wanted to be up there too! Great Performance!

#2 – Rascal Flatts with Journey on Banjo & Don’t Stop Believing

They closed the show with the final performance and it was spectacular! Rascal Flatts started with the stunning blonde woman tearing it up on the banjo and finished it off with everyone in the room singing along with iconic 80′s rock band Journey! I hadn’t seen Journey since they replaced the front man, but WOW can he sing! Just a suggestion, but that would make a fantastic future CMT Crossroads episode! Nice job.

#3 – Hank Williams Jr & Brad Paisley I’m Gonna Get Drunk And Play Hank Williams

Brad Paisley definitely has a knack for collaborations. He won the award for collaborative video for his work with Carrie Underwood on “Remind Me” and he was on stage at the CMT Awards with Hank Williams Jr for the lucky fans near the outside stage in Nashville last night! They were great together. They both have a swagger of country coolness that works very well together, not to mention the talent! I fully enjoyed the moment!

#4 – Lady Antebellum We Owned The Night and Tonight Tonight with Hot Chelle Rae

The first performance of the night was by Lady Antebellum, who brought their friends from Hot Chelle Rae up on stage with them to fire up the crowd with a country/rock/pop mash-up of We Owned The Night and Tonight Tonight! It worked!
