The city of Pittsburgh held a rally downtown today (April 11th) to get fans fired up for the start of the NHL Playoffs. The Pittsburgh Penguins face the Philadelphia Flyers in the first round.

Y108′s Jimmy & Monty spoke to Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl at the rally and he’s looking forward to the series, “I feel pretty good about the series. I think the Penguins, once Sidney got back at the end of the year, started to really gel. I look forward to, hopefully, a good Stanley Cup run.”

When asked about the ‘most livable city’ being depicted as having the most arrogant hockey team, Ravenstahl said, “I think it jealousy. I think they know that we have two of the best players in the league in Sid and Geno. They’re enveous of us, not only are we America’s most livable city, but we have America’s best hockey team.”

In jest, Jimmy & Monty asked the Mayor which Flyer he’d love to “hit”. Ravenstahl said “That’s a tough one. Scotty Hartnell was always somebody that gets under my skin when you watch him.” Ravenstahl continued and said that with “clean hits, good hard hockey, I think we’ll be the team that comes out on top.”
