Oh my gosh that was heart breaking. It made me cry

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001360545927 Melanie Taylor Wisniewski

This song is sooo beautiful! It doesnt make a difference it isn’t a country song, it is for the memory of all the men, women, and children that lost their lives on 9/11/01! The World will love this, just as much as I do!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001325865741 Lisa Gill

    omg cant stop crying…..

  • sami

omy gosh…….this too brought tears to my eyes……..beautiful song.

  • LeAnne

WOW….So the girl that just called in a few minutes ago….I’m a pretty thick skinned girl & that made me a snivelling mess! Could she BE any bigger of a MORON!?!?! Get a clue & have some sympathy….

  • Kayda B.

The song was nice – tho a tearjerker – the first time you played it this morning. You’ve played it two more times since. That’s about a 1-1/2 hour rotation for it! Way too much, and the song is, really, mediocre at best. Give it a rest, Y108.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1508533437 Scot Deutsch

Wow, this is so moving. So beautiful!

  • liz

    that was a beautiful !!!!!

  • Nettie Moore

Omg That totally broke my heart. Knowing those beautiful kids have to grow up without their Daddys cause of those RAG HEAD Bastereds.

  • miranda

this is sooo beautiful…best tribute song ever

  • Dave Jones

At 6’2″ and over 250 lbs, I’m not ashamed to admit, I broke down in tears while listening to this song and thinking of the hundreds of children for whom this song has been and will continue to be REALITY!

  • susan

I heard this song while driving down the road and It brought tears to my eyes and my 12 yr, old son is saying change the channel as the tears are rolling down his face. Very beautiful song

  • http://www.mpms.info Melissa Romanelli

i am not so sure if i think the song is the right one for the occassion — but i would love to find every one of those sweet brave kids and just hug the stuffing out of them.

  • bill

maybe kayda b should move over to the middle east to be with the rest of those ignorant idiots

  • bill

    that tribute is awesome

  • Calla

Okay, so I’m 12, I don’t remember this. But I’ve always had my dad. And to hear those kids talking, and to know they’ve never had a dad, breaks my heart. My best friend told me to listen to this, and I did. And I don’t care who you are, that’s the saddest song ever. Thank God that justice has been served. <3

  • Lori

I was sitting at my desk at work when this came on this morning, and I had to get up and go outside in order to pull myself together. I don’t think I’ve ever had a song affect me the way this one did. What a beautiful song.

  • steve

i agree with Bill, Kayda b needs to move to the middle east. that was such a great tribute i think it should be played every hour on the hour on 9-11. play it as often as you want to y108. there are so many children that lost a parent, i cant imagine if my kids would have had to go through that. i dare anyone to listen to that without tearing up….

  • jackie

I love this song I heard it for the first time while driving I almost had to pull over because I couldnt see where I was going.

  • jess

I really love this song. Considering I was only 5 years old when this all happened I don’t really remember it. But this song really put it into perspective for me. So of course I really wanted to download this song, specifically this version of the song with the little girl. Can anyone help me.

  • pat

That song is beautiful! I’ve been very lucky I’ve had my dad all my life and he is almost 86 and I can’t imagine losing him and i had him growing up, And those poor babies will never know the joy of having daddy there in person, only in spirit. Play it every hour to honor all of the children who lost their loved one.

  • STACY

very heart breaking just to think what these families go thru ..i heard this song and tears just rolled down my face ..believe me your families are hereos and never will be forgotten ..GOD BLESS :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1727458617 Mary Carver Myers

REALITY in a song……my heart is broken.

  • Jon

The song was made by the Program Director, Music Director, and Production Director of 98.5 KLUC – FM in Las Vegas.

  • Stacy Myers

Omg. The radio station I listen to jus played this song and the little girl couldn’t even get her first few words out before I was crying. Very touching song. I can’t believe it’s been 10 years. God Bless the USA. We will never forget

  • Ashley

This song is a Beautiful song but it isnt new by any means. DJ Sammie did this same song 10 years ago when this girl was a little girl she was only 3 or 4. Now she is in High School. I havd had this song on my Ipod since it first came out when the little girl was singing it. Just wanted to give everyone a FYI this isn’t new Sorry!

  • Marian Bruce

    Absolutely beautiful and heart-breaking – a wonderful tribute…

  • lesa

That is the saddest thing i ever heard brings back alot of memories of losing my son 3 years ago can’t stop crying

  • Chantal Baillargeon

    so so sad…made me cry!!

  • GLORIA BEIGHLEY

I WAS SO MOVED BY THIS SONG I COULD NOT STOP CRYING THE FIRST TIME I HEARD IT AND CRY EVERY TIME SINCE. GOD BLESS ALL THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES AND ALL WHO PROTECT US EVERY DAY. WE ARE A VERY LUCKY COUNTRY TO HAVE SO MUCH FREEDOM AND MY HAT GOES OFF TO ALL THE SERVICE PEOPLE WHO FIGHT TO PROTECT US AND GIVE US THAT FREEDOM.
    G BEIGHLEY

  • Sue M.

I heard this song for the first time yesterday at work, I cried my eyes out. Great song for the anniversary of 9-11. It’s a wonderful tribute.

  • Kayda B.

If this song is the best we can do to honor the people killed in the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and in Shanksville on 9/11/01, as well as the families they left behind, and those who lost their lives and those continuing to fight for our freedom in the Middle East where several of you so lovingly suggested I go, I say it’s pretty sad.

Yes, it’s a tear-jerker. But I’d think it would say a whole lot if it were a song written by a child whose parent was killed on 9/11. That would be a much more appropriate tribute. A few spoken words over a badly autotuned bubblegum-pop remake of a nearly 30 year old Bryan Adams song really doesn’t say “tribute” to me. What it does say is “tacky exploitation of those who have lost someone on or because of 9/11.”

And for the record, my fiance was killed in Iraq fighting for my right to say what I feel and your right to criticize me for it. He was proud to fight and die for his country and to do so trying to bring to justice the very horrible lifeforms that were behind 9/11. And when he died, he left behind a little girl who often questions why her daddy isn’t here. Try coming up with an answer to THAT.

So if any of you feel that makes me an “ignorant idiot”, have at it.

  • Stephanie

Sitting here at work and it made me cry my paitents are looking at me like im crazy because im walking into there rooms with tears rolling down my face

  • Military Mom

Kayda, I’m sorry for your loss. I am from a military family who’s son is often unable to be reached at all because of his military duties. No communication for months at a time. But you sound very bitter and I am sorry for that. I am glad you found a forum to vent. Maybe you will be the one to come up with what you feel is a better tribute. Please have a blessed day.

  • Karrie

This song is the most touching and heartbreaking songs I’ve ever heard. it sends chiils down my spine when I think of all the children who lost one or both of their parents to such a horrific tragedy. May God be with them all! And I hope they know that they will never be forgotten.

  • http://facebook mary

    so beautiful yet so sad

    THIS HEART-RENCHING ….BUT EVERYONE NEEDS CRY A LITTLE…REMEMBER A LITTLE…..AND NEVER FORGET !!!!!!!

  • Cheryl Keefer

WOW!!! I was talking on the phone to my daughter Cindy this morning and all of a sudden she was crying.I said, what is going on,she says there is this 911 tribute song and every time I hear it,it tears me up.I say what song is that and she says trust me “you don’t even want to hear it”! She knows that 9/11 changed the world a lot and this day used to be a celebration day for our family, for it is the day that Cindy was born on.For 10 years now,she has disowned this day at being her birthday(she feels it is not a happy day no more). We also struggle as a family deeper in this awful reality due to the fact that my Son/Cindy’s baby brother,is currently deployed for a 2nd tour to Afghanistan and we are well aware of the risk involved. My Son’s Battalion recently sent 6 HERO’S home to be buried.Unfortunately,I listened to the song and I now see why Cindy said,”you don’t even want to hear it”. What a heart breaker, tear flowing song! God Bless The USA and God be with every family who lost a loved one on 9/11 and thank ALL our Military for their heroism to fight for your freedom!

  • crystal

Cheryl my prayers r with ur son and sorry to hear about his fellow fallen heros. I no how u feel. We just got thorugh our 4th deployment. 3 to Iraq and 1 to Afganastan. Its not easy to sit by everyday wondering how he is doin. It is very hard bein a spouse or family member of a traveling soldier. Praying for his safe return.

  • Cheryl Keefer

    Crystal,

Thank You! Some people just don’t understand the “real” feelings of having a loved one deployed. It is very emotional and stressful. My computer is on 24 hours a day so I don’t miss one opportunity to chat with my son. Skype is the best thing ever invented in my eyes! Sleep is hard to come by,especially when you know your baby is on a mission and you don’t know when or if he will be back. The 8 1/2 hour time difference is a factor too.I have always believed in God and this type of experience has bought me closer to him. My son Joe is my only son and is also my baby.He also did a tour in Kuwait. At least I know when he comes back in February, that it will be his last! Thank the “hero” in your family from my family for their service. What branch and where are they based out of? My son is Army and been stationed in Fairbanks,Alaska for over 3 yrs now. :( still so far away.I loved when he was stationed in Virginia 6 1/2 drive.

  • http://y108 cindy carlisle

That song made me and my girls cry when we listened to it. It’s a very powerful song and we should never forget that day or the children that lost there dad or mom.

  • haley

this song made me cry the talking in the background breaks my heart :(

  • http://y108 ashley montgomery

This is A really good song, it made me cry and no song has done that in years

  • http://y108 ashley montgomery

    I agree

  • Kim

What an amazing tribute – my heart goes out to all those children who lost – too innocent and too young not to have their dad.

I agree with those who commented on Kayda B – it might be a remake, but you have to really “listen” to the song with your heart. Sorry for your loss, I have family members fighting now and worry every day. Any tribute no matter how “tacky” you feel it is, is an honor to those who have lost a loved one who served to keep us free and for those who are serving right now.

    Keep the tributes coming!!!!

  • kim spiker

Brought tears to my eyes and my husbands-may we never forget that this tragedy continues to affect so many God bless us all

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000210731656 Tracy Spiering

this song!!!!! grab a box of tissues before listening…….its a tribute to honor those lost on 9-11, however…..one can’t help but feel for any child who had to grow up without a parent…..Heaven on Y108 web page

  • http://www.facebook.com/kit.macklynn Kit Matthews Shaffer

The idea for this song is great, but at the same time it’s not. 9/11 was a deep wound for alot of people that needs care and time to heal. This song is like ripping the scab off of that wound and rubbing salt in it. Instead of healing and becoming stronger, it’s wallowing in grief. PLEASE don’t over play this song!

  • http://Y108.COM ERNEST SCHOMER

if this song dont make you cry you dont have a heart i heard it 4 times and every time i cried my 6 year old daughter even cried

  • Paula

Beautiful song surely tears fell….9/11 will never be forgotten in my eyes. I didn’t have a relative that was hurt that day. But I did have Family because I consider all American’s my family through the Grace of God..My Heart goes out to each and everyone of you that lost a love one on that day. But we shouldn’t have to wait until 9/11 to think of these loved ones that were lost in this tragedy we need to remember them everyday because know one is promised tomorrow. May God be with you all on Sept. 11th 2011

  • esther f

Your Daddys can see you and they are with you every minute of the day. My heart goes out to all of the children that lost a parent that day and also to those who lost their husband, wife, son, daughter, sister, brother. We all mourn for you. One day you will once again be with your loved one. Believe!!!!!!!

  • dan

It’s beautiful song and I feel a well tribute. I thank the military members in my family, friends and even members I see on leave walking down the road. I don’t believe they get thanked enough for there service to us and this country. But what everyone seems to forget are the firefighters, cops , and ems workers who leave there family’s every shift or every time the pager goes off. Not knowing what they will come across or if they will return home. They are the ones who don’t discriminate but run in when others run out. There selfless acts saved hundreds if not thousands more that day. It hits hard to me because I have friends that lost family in the towers and I can only imagine the pain they have felt and endured.

  • debbie

The song is beautiful. I love listening to it. We all have and need heros in this world.

  • April

Reading all these comments brought to mind that the USA is truly the greatest place on earth to live. Where else could one speak their mind and not fear any real retaliation for an opinion. I love that song anyway no matter who sings it. It was a tear jerker with the girls voice on it. We should all remember how blessed we are because of the sacrifices made 100 years ago, 10 years ago and still being made today. I am sure there are other tribute songs out there to be heard. There is a place for all of them. I am sure there will be many different opinions about them also. I loved it personally.

  • Tracie Hall

This song had me in tears. It hits home for myself and my daughter more than you could know. My husband was deployed September 11, 2004 to Iraq for an 18 months tour and never made it home. He was killed my a suicide bomber on June 28, 2005. So the words to this song are the feelings that my daughter feels on a daily basis.

God Bless All of our HEROES from 9/11/01 to present and all who still defend our country here and abroad!!!

  • Jim

I am a 43 year Old male with tears in my eyes at work listening to this tribute. It really tugs at your heart and makes you want justice for those who have perished even more.

  • Samantha

This song brought me to tears. Two of my best friends lost their fathers on 9-11. It is such a terrible thing to think about. This is absolutely beautiful.

  • Liz

heard this song today 9/9/11 while getting ready for work….broke down in tears and had to re-do the face! So heartbroken for all of those families that lost their dear love ones on this dreadful day now coming up to the 10th anniversary. my prayers are with all those involved and know that you (although not known by name or face) are always thought of with much love! God Bless You All.

  • MiaD

This song if beautiful. I couldn’t help but cry. This song shows how much we miss those that were lost in 9/11. You will forever be in a hearts, and will forever be our heros.

  • Liz

    sorry for their loss….

  • Liz

    AGREED!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000844155919 Jeanne Acita Shaffer

Loved it. Very moving. Everyone should listen to this song.

  • tp

im 31 5’10 250lb man and i was crying like a baby in my comcast work truck

  • Tammy P

Very touching. I almost wrecked on my way to work this morning because I was crying listening to it. It does what the song was meant to do, makes you stop and think and remember for a few moments all that perished. God be with each of them and their familes. God be with all of our military serving at home and abroad.

  • crystal

Sheryl we are stationed at fort campbell ky. He is army. U say this is his last tour? Is he retireing or did he just have enough? I dont blame him if he had enough. My husband and i had enough too but he is 3 yrs from retirement so we r gonna try to stick it out. He is due back to Afganastan in 2013 and is suppose to retire in 2014 so i hope his retirement interfers with the next deployment. I no what u mean by leavin ur computer on all day. I did the same thing and if i missed him i felt aweful. It is very stressfull. I got through it by workin and keepin busy and i NEVER watched the news. We used yahoo messenger most of the time cuz he was able to send me a message through text message to me from his messenger so i didnt miss him that often. I will thank my husband and i thank ur son as well. As a matter a fact he is on block leave and we traveled to pittsburgh pa to visit and he actually is workin with the company he worked with before he joined the army. He is setting up all the tents in shankesville pa where flight 93 went down. Thats kinda crazy that a service member is workin to help the tribute of 9/11. Hang in there he will be home before u know it.

  • crystal

Kayda u said it for everyone “ignorant idiot” Its a tribute and a very beautiful one. Ur in the same place they r so grow a heart. My husband has been through 4 deployments. 3 Iraq and 1 Afganastan. I am sorry for ur lose and i feel for ur daughter. I have 4 kids and cant imagine having to tell them their daddy wont be comin home. That must have been very hard for you. you are hating the wrong people. No one in the U.S. hurt you so just grieve with us and honor ur finance in everyway possible.

  • crystal

very very sorry to hear that tracie.

  • Dave

Beautiful song and a tear jerker! Quite right for the occassion, very nicely arraigned!

  • Randy Watson

It’s called an “Off” button. Use it if you do not like the song. The rest of us happen to like it.

  • Guest

My eyes are still wet. Well, said, Military Mom.

  • Carole

This song needs to be played to remind us of how the innocent children miss their parents daily and have to go through each day of their lives without them. The question “Can you see me, daddy?” is one we all wonder about!

  • Guest

    Very well said, Military Mom.

    Damned poignant!

  • dallas

Tomorrow will be the tenth anniversary of 9/11 thank u god for having so many people put there lives on the line everyday for us and to all the families that lost somebody dear to them on that day 10 years ago my heart goes out to them.God bless america

  • Elizabeth

you are the ignorant idiot. shame on you, you are selfish. God Bless America & all the people whether military or public servants (yes, that would be the police, fire & so much more) that help & protect us each & everyday for very little in pay compared to their sacrifice.

  • Elizabeth

I need to say more here…….my only sibling, a sister, at the age of 47, retired from the Army as an officer, re-upped the very next day after 9-11 & served overseas for another 6 years in Spec. Ops as a biochemist. So, does that make my family special? No, it does not but it does make anyone else that has contributed whether in the military, city services, volunteer nurses & doctors, in prayer, in donations & the list goes on, the right for all of us to remember & HONOR them. This is our country & if you don’t like something…gues what? a soldier fought for YOUR right to live here as a citizen to practice all of our rights given to us in the Constitution of the United States of America. Has our family lost someone personally in this effort? Yes we did & we honor those whom still fight the good fight.

  • MsCynic

I get made fun of for not being emotional, but this put me in tears and continues to put me there!!

  • Rita

God Bless all of those who lost their lives protection all of us you all are my hero!
To the families and friends of these wonderful people please know they are not forgotten and they are still amazing! God Bless.

  • http://y108.radio.com Colleen

This song did make me cry – who didn’t when they heard it? I take exception to the mention of “rag heads” in one comment. The people behind 9/11 were using their religion as an excuse for their actions. That’s been done before, for anyone who remembers learning about the Crusades. I hope that people remember that labeling an entire group for the actions of a radical offshoot of their religion is wrong.

I don’t think anyone will ever forget 9/11. The “everyday” people who left for work and became heroes should never be forgotten.

  • nicole huffmyer

this song gets to me every single time i listen to it

  • http://www.facebook.com/tina.rosatti Tina Rosatti

This song is so beautiful. My heart goes out to all of the familys that lost a loved one that day. When this tragity happened my son said to me I am joining the military and am going to help protect everyone so this doesnt happen again. Ten years later my son is now 19 and has been in the Army National Guard for 1 year now. I am so proud of him for standing up for what he believed in on that Sept. day.

  • http://facebook.com Sharon Dornin

Ibelieve this is a wonderful tribute to the many fallen heros of 911. We should never forget or get so laxed that anything lick this could ever ever happen again. We are very proud of our brothers and sisters who gave there lives for our greater good. God bless them all and god bless the familys of our military and our rescue people all over america.

THIS IS HEART BREAKING! YOU WILL CRY!

  • http://y108.radio.com Colleen

The Shanksville plane kept how many people (wherever they were planning to send it) from dying. They gave their lives to save so many more. I think there should be some more tribute paid to those people who also gave their lives for their country.

  • http://y108 jennifer boyd

i agree those people were heros

  • Janet Rohac

Such a heart wrenching song!. The tears flow until no more will come out. What more can be said that hasn’t already been said. There aren’t enough words to even begin to express what the children and loved ones have gone through since that horrible horrible day. In addition over 1000 more have died since then due to illnesses incurred by the clean up afterwards. We as a nation have been scarred deeply in our hearts and in our minds and the scars will continuously remind us of the cost of living in the greatest nation on earth. WE WILL NEVER FORGET AND WE WILL SEEK OUT THE ENEMY NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES. It is our duty and honor to keep this country out of harms way. We are a generous and loving nation because we have values that are unmatched by any other country. We preserve and do not destroy freedom and that’s why we as Americans must and always will give up our lives. The men and women of 9/11 had no choice or decision. Their memory will be in our hearts until the end of time because WE WILL NEVER FORGET!

  • jaquita

this song really teached me nd me cousins…. my oldr cousin started crying first then me my little cousin was skin questions so many questions shes only ten years old she was jus baby im 17 nd my oldr cousin is 22 so she remebers alot thank yu R.I.P TO ALLTHE PEOPLE WHO PAST IN 9/11 yu will forever be missed

  • Heather H

    Kayda,

It is a real shame that you view the song Heaven as a mediocre song. I hope you have not lost anyone on 9/11. If you actually sit and listen to the words, you will find that it just isn’t about those who did die on 9/11 but instead it could be for anyone who has lost someone special to them.

  • Shirl

I have always loved this song… it brought me to tears also…

  • Robert William Ivory

My daughter was just 1 yr 4 months old and my wifes birthday was the following day 9-12-2001. This song puts everything into perspective. I live to make thier lives be as great as possible. this song touched us all, THANK YOU !!!

  • Joline

What an extremely moving song. My husband just passed away and left me alone with two boys. This song is so fitting for them because they are constantly asking if he can see what they have done and if he is proud of them. They both cried when they heard this song as well I. May God bless us all.

  • Anastasia Pearson

i love this song!!! i cried all 4 times that i listened to it! its amazing!!!! :(

  • John

I heard this song on 9/11/2011 driving in NYC on my way to fly out of JFK airport. I couldn’t get past the first minute before having to turn the radio channel. All I could think about was my own daughter waiting to pick my up at the airport when I got home. I feel so sorry for all the kids, wives, and husbands that no longer have their significant other in their lives because of a group of people that hate America. Sometimes these people are even in this country, and may not be who you think they are. We have to stand up for these people that died that day and everyone in this great country must learn to be Americans again. We are a great people and must continue to think so. This is the best country in the world and we have to protect it.

  • Thabo

Wow this song is beautiful but yet sad, its ally unfortunate what this ordeal brought…..
